About Website Accessibility Essential Audit

Essential Audit is meant to identify most alarming and pressing issues, a low hanging fruit so to speak. It is a good start on your journey to achieving accessibility compliance. It’s a perfect option if you just don’t have a budget for a full in-depth audit and don’t want to wait until you finally do. Note of caution: this accessibility audit may only identify a limited number of issues and provide generic recommendations for improvement. While it may provide some basic insights into accessibility issues on your website, it may not provide a comprehensive evaluation of all potential issues. This can leave your website vulnerable to accessibility lawsuits and negative publicity. Nonetheless, it is hundred times better than doing nothing at all or relying on accessibility widgets. Of course this is just an audit, the remediation by your team or ours is the next logical step.

The Process

Here is how it works in a few steps. I try to explain thing as clearly as possible but if you have more question please reach out via one of the ways listed on the Contact page. I'll be very happy to hear from you and answer your questions.

  1. Automated Audit

To save your time and money I do an automated scan using professional grade scanning tools. However, even the best tools cannot catch all the problems.

  2. Manual Audit

The next step is manual audit. Using an automated scan as a roadmap I will meticulously check all the items for false positives and things that were missed.

  3. Report Generated

I will send you a link containing your Essential Report. In it you will find a list of issues, references to WCAG guidelines and steps for remediation.

  4. Discuss Findings

The report only shows you existing problems. The next logical step is to fix them. You can do it in-house or you can order our Website Remediation service: rest assured that it will be done efficiently and thoroughly.
